From a very early age, Leontin Paun started to draw on every occasion. Whilst still at school, he got noticed by his art teacher who led him to attend a School of Art called Lasi in Octav Bancila. Leontin then went onto studying at the Arts University George Enescu in Lasi before taking over the art studio of his late teacher Ignat
Leontin's inspiration draws on many elements both from his culture and from his surroundings as he grew up. His father's philatelic collection, his uncle Constantin Popescu's paintings or the Russian painting album's that he would find in the neighbouring small town of Ramnicu Sarat all served as a point of reference in the artist's work.
