Juliana Manara is a London based photographer and contemporary artist. She catches ideas from real life and then transforms them into fantasies. Different cameras formats, dreamy scenarios, and little characters are the main details to be found in these unique works of photographic montage and more.
Born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Juliana Manara studied Social Communications and International Politics. It was during her degree that she discovered her photographic skills and began work as a documentary photographer for newspapers and magazines.
In 2009, Manara moved to Paris to study for a Masters in professional Photography and it was there that she had the opportunity to meet and learn from renowned photographers, including Paolo Roversi and later she develops her own style mixing photographs with other artistic techniques. Juliana has been based in London since 2010.
Her work has been exhibited internationally and is part of numerous private and corporate collections including Wendy Asher (famous private collector featured at Banksy Documentary " Exit Through the Gift Shop, 2010") and the prestigious National Library of France.
