Born in Surrey in 1962, Joanne originally trained as a classical pianist at the Royal College of Music, working for many years as an accompanist and teacher. However, painting has always been an integral part of her life and in 1990 she undertook a two year course at The Putney School of Art and Design. Since then her career as an artist has overtaken that of musician, although she still teaches the piano and performs occasionally.
Joanne has exhibited widely, both here and abroad, and has had works selected for several major exhibitions at the Mall Galleries, including the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, Royal Institute of Oil Painters and The Pastel Society. She was recently awarded the John Longley Prize for a pastel painting in the 2012 Love Pastel exhibition
Her work hangs in private and corporate collections throughout the world. Some notable commissions include Sandy Lane Hotel, Barbados; Carlton Tower Hotel, Knightsbridge and numerous private yachts. Her work has been published by the Art Group – including a Tuscan Landscape on sale worldwide at IKEA. Joanne was also the first artist to be promoted by Ryan Air with a Winter Landscape watercolour printed on their airline tray tables.
