Jenny Wilson was born in 1971, and is a self-taught artist who has painted in oils since the age of twelve when she attended some evening gatherings focusing on painting with oils with her grandmother and mother in the small village in Sweden where she grew up. Now living in Leicestershire, she has painted more seriously over the last 5 years and has had Worldwide success.
Nearly all my work is inspired by the ever-changing colours through the passing of the seasons in the local landscape and along roads I travel every day. I never aim to copy but simply to capture feelings and light without focusing on details. All my paintings are done by pallet knife using oil paint, mainly on canvas. I tend to be drawn by the dramatic colours created by angry, grey skies but also by the beautiful, captivating colour transformation the evening light blesses us with.
I feel truly lucky to be able to spend my working days surrounded by beauty and the tranquillity and fulfilment my time in the studio gives me.
