Jenny Aitken is an English artist who lives in Derbyshire, on the edge of the Peak District, and her studio looks North West towards the peaks. Jenny's artworks are heavily influenced by the sea as she grew up in Alderney, in the Channel Islands, and states that the sea is in her blood.
Jenny works primarily in acrylics and oils, painting both in her studio and directly at the source of her inspiration. Her work often depicts movement, light and atmosphere
Jenny has a BA Hons in Art and Art History from UCW Aberystwyth. following on from her studies Jenny has developed her painting practise and in 2006 she was a finalist in the Artist Magazine Awards and 2008 she was voted Derushires Artist of the Year. Her work can be found I a number of privet and public collections throughout the UK. Jenny regularly travels to hold workshops and demos to societies, groups and individuals. I am also a guest writer for The Artist Magazine.
