We are pleased to introduce for the first time in Britain the well-established southern French artist Jean Pierson. We met him by chance through a mutual friend and visited his studio in Beziers. His canvasses which are regularly exhibited in Paris and Montpelier, reflect his love for the light and charm of the French Mediterranean seashore. These are cleverly observed “escapist” canvasses. Not for Jean the sweeping coastline vistas, but close focus on the shore, perhaps with a picnic table with a bottle of wine on a veranda, just the sort of romantic composition for a grey day in London.
