Jane Peart was born in London and studied illustration at Ealing School of Art where she graduated with distinction in 1975. She worked in a design studio in London before moving to Oxford in 1978. After many years of focusing on pencil and pen and ink drawings she took up etching and now devotes most of her creative energy to printmaking.
Jane was invited to exhibit at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) Pastel and Pencil Drawing Exhibition 2001 as well as the RSBA Contemporary Print Exhibition 2003 and 2004. Jane has work in the collection of the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford and Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospital, London. She has been commissioned to illustrate books, brochures, information panels and was commissioned by the Oxford Radcliffe Hospital NHS Trust to make a 42-plate etching depicting hospital life, architecture, people and technology. She is a member of the Oxford Printmakers' Cooperative and also a member of Oxford Art Society.
