Born in Warwickshire, Helen moved to the West Country, firstly to study European Studies at The University of Bath in 1981. In 1994, Helen then set up home with her family in Chew Valley, where she remains’ to this day, after a brief stint in London.
For the past ten years, Helen has focused on sculpting, which she happened upon when she agreed to accompany a friend on a ceramics course for one afternoon a week at The Bristol School of Art. Helen was instantly hooked and she has not looked back. She has also worked with her son Fred Gordon whose work can also be seen at Rostra Gallery. They both worked on the piece entitled 'Stilts' with Fred working on the left giraffe and Helen working on the right.
