Heiki Roesel is a Fine Art Printmaker, who graduated from the University of Brighton in 1996. Her images are a celebration of dynamic form, colour and playfulness. With her etchings, she hopes to inspire the observer’s own imagination, so that they can discover their own individual narrative in her prints. She also wishes to send people’s minds on a joyful journey, discovering new things in her etchings every time they look.
She strinkingly mixes together stories and anecdotes with landmarks and shapes. Roesel’s prints can be described as colourful, semi-abstract and imaginative worlds in their own right. Her artwork has appeared in a number of feature films and TV series, including BBC’s ‘The Night Manager’ and ‘Bridget Jones’ Baby’.
Roesel is currently based in Brighton, England, creating vibrant etchings and watercolour. From 2009, she has been developing acrylic resist etching techniques and using them in her own artistic practise. She runs regular evening and weekend classes in her studio Brighton Etch, New England House.
