Grace Wilmshurst is a British artist living and working in Brighton.
"Wild animals, dogs and birds are the inspiration for many of my oil paintings, and play a powerful role in my imagination. I grew up in the Wyle Valley in Wiltshire, surrounded by wildlife, which seemed to possess a fascinating but also sinister rural beauty. I have tried to capture that energy in my work using oil paint, which is the perfect, versatile medium for these atmospheric snap shots. I am currently exploring the characteristic, muscular bodies of greyhounds and whippets which belie their sensitive, gentle nature."
