François Pont was born in Switzerland and has lived in London since 1979. He went to the Chelsea School of Art, Byam Shaw and Camberwell and has a postgraduate diploma in printmaking. He is particularly interested in traditional as well as experimental techniques of printmaking and works on his own press in London and in collaboration with Raymond Meyer, master printer and publisher of artist books in Switzerland.
He has recently had solo shows in Piers Feetham Gallery, London (2014) and Galerie Arts et Lettres, Vevey (2014) but has also shown at the Fondation Louis Moret in Martigny and U-Bahn Gesundbrunnen in Berlin. He takes part in the Print Biennials in Krakow, Switzerland and France. His prints are in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum / St-Thomas's Hospital, London / Swiss National Print collection, Zurich / Cabinet des Estampes, Vevey / Art Museum of Valais, Sion.
He has exhibited with One Church Street Gallery since 2014
