Ewa-Mari Johansson was born in Sweden and started playing with the camera at the early age of 14. At 19, she started travelling the world, lived in NYC and also worked in front of the camera as a model. Soon, she decided to move to LA to study photography at UCLA.
Her major pieces of works are black and white portraits of women.
The female body has always been the focus of her work, expressing power and beauty, but also its soul and the traces the body leaves when viewed in space. Her book "To be or not to be" tells of her artistic process.
Her works are represented in collections in Italy, USA, Sweden, Denmark.
