Ekaterina Popova was born in Vladimir, Russia and now lives and works in the United States. It was after her move that Ekaterina fell in love with painting and received a BFA from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. Lately, her artwork has taken on an exploration of interiors The interest started as a way for her to reflect on my upbringing in Russia but eventually progressed to exploring the overall idea of “home” and what it means to her now. Ekaterina often visits other peoples homes for reference and repeatedly paints her own room. The work has slowly evolved from being reflective and sentimental to being mindful and present in my current environment.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including Art Miami Fairs, Affordable Art Fair New York and London, Delaware Contemporary, A.I.R. Gallery and more. She has been featured by multiple media outlets and publications, including The Philadelphia Inquirer, The Jealous Curator, Ice view, Professional Artist Magazine, and more. Ekaterina is currently based in Delaware and Philadelphia.
