Eithne Roberts graduated from D.I.T. with a B.A. (hons) in Fine Art. When in college, she studied ceramics and her beautiful clay bowls became the subjects of her first paintings. Roberts was also inspired by the beautiful and quiet work of Giorgio Morandi.
Since those first paintings, more shapes and objects have appeared, from small little jugs, cups and bowls, to flowers and peas and apples, all familiar domestic pieces. She picks up pieces along the way, unremarkable in their simplicity, little treasures that catch her eye in flea markets and interesting little shops.
Roberts paints from her studio in Co. Dublin, exhibiting on a regular basis throughout Ireland and the UK. She says, “My still life paintings seek to observe the simple beauty of familiar objects - introducing a poetic moment to the everyday.”
