Eigil Nordstrøm was born in Trondheim in Norway and moved to London to study for a diploma Fine Art at The Art Academy, he followed this diploma with an MA at City & Guilds of London Art School. Eigil Teachers foundation and diploma at The Art Acadamy along with running and developing short painting courses. In 2014 Eigil was awarded the 1st prize, Art Gemini Contemporary Art Prize, TriSpace Gallery, London and The Arts Charitable Trust Award, New English Art Club, Mall Galleries, London. He also has exhibited in a number of galleries throughout London, including 'Intangible Spaces', Fieldworks Gallery and Unit G Gallery and 'Sensibilities of Belonging', curated and hosted by NoonPowell Gallery, Mall Galleries, . Eigil is inspired by the experience of light and how light presents itself. He uses personal memories of Norwegian mountains to influence his work while creating a strong atmosphere of light in ambiguous spaces.
