Born in Dublin, Daniel Holfeld grew up with a deep passion for travel. After graduating in Photography from Dublin’s Institute of Technology, Holfeld exhibited his work in the New York Photo Festival, where he was nominated within the best emerging photographer category. With more than ten years of working as a Fine Art and Fashion Photographer, Holfeld has recently turned his camera lens towards the Mosques of the Middle East.
His latest work is the result of two years travel to Morocco; and specifically, to Marrakesh and Casablanca. Holfeld has created a powerful series of architectural photographs which capture the beauty and grace of the Arab aesthetic. His work pays homage to a culture rich in design and craftsmanship by depicting the contrast between dark and light; the intimate and the public. Holfeld seeks out moments and vignettes, resulting in an enchanting stillness.
Now based in Ireland, he has exhibited with NoonPowell Fine Art in London, Gallery No.3 in Brentwood, Stone Step Gallery in Dublin and a number of international art fairs. Holfeld was also hand-selected by Saatchi curators to participate in the Other Art Fair in 2018. Following this, he has received Honourable Mention in the 2019 Internatioonal Photography Awards and has been shortlisted in the Royal Arts Prize 2019.
