Christian Schmid uses paint and sculptural objects to explore space and the shapes of different forms. Since his studies in fine arts (until 2001) in Mainz and Karlsruhe with K. Grosse and T. Kaminsky, he has challenged the visual habits of the viewer and the categories of art.
Schmid paints objects and turns objects into paintings – through his unique perspective of paintings, he questions spatiality and dimensions. Not only does he explore the notions of form and space, but he also creates an exciting relationship between materials and colour.
Christian Schmid lives and works in Karlsruhe, Germany.
