Chris Kettle is a degree-educated British artist who lives and works in Brighton, his love for art developed through his mother encouraging him to explore his natural talents. From here Chris went on to study Fine Art at Cardiff.
His art focuses primarily on still life, he aims for his painting to inhabit a mysterious world of their own with the objects arranged on the canvas with a charge on light and drama to somehow channel emotion and universal feelings. Chris has a subversive approach and often uses beautiful brush strokes which results in striking and emotional paintings that bring a mixture of traditional still life subjects and new graphic elements. Each piece bringing emotion and feeling to the objects he is depicting.
Christopher was one of the top three, overall award winners of the National Open Art Competition 2011 UK, judged by Gavin Turk. His painting ‘Hubris’ was also chosen for the accompanying NOAC exhibition. H
