Chee-mun Simon Yung grew up and lives in Hong Kong he obtained a diploma in Chinese Painting from HKU SPACE and then followed on from this with a BA in Chinse Humanities from OUHK. Along with this Simon has also studied Chines calligraphy in order to develop his practice.
Simon has exhibited both in Hong Kong and internationally with exhibits such as The Reality of My Scotland at the Edinburgh Fringe festival in and On My Mind at Blink Gallery Cardiff.
Simon primarily works with ink, as he is heavily influenced by the concept of classical philosophy of the ancient Chinese scholars' use of ink. In addition, he was inspired and influenced by Romantic English artist William Turner and Impressionist French artist Claude Monet.
