Charles Fazzino, founder of 3D Pop Art movement at the end of the seventies, was born in New York in 1955 where he still lives and works.
During his more-than-thirty years as a pop artist, Charles Fazzino is one of the most popular and highly-collected pop artists of all time. He enchants us with his 3-dimensional representation of a coloured, playful and glittering world. He observes his city with irony, painting with many details and in a very recognizable style, his neighbourhoods, inhabitants, taxis and frantic life… Some years later, he depicted other American, European or Japanese cities. Sports, cinema, medicine… are among his favourite themes. After several sketches, his 3D works derives from an original painting from where silk screen prints will be made, then hand-cut, glued in layers and then embellished differently by hand.
Charles Fazzino is often referred to as a pop culture historian because of the breadth of his work and the way it touches his collectors and captures the best parts of their contemporary lives. His legacy will mark him as part of the next generation of famous pop art artists as he follows the paths originally forged by pop art pioneers like Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Red Grooms, and Robert Rauschenberg.
Charles Fazzino’s artworks are exhibited in hundreds of museums and galleries in more than twenty different countries. He has received many private and important commissions and has been selected as the official artist for festivals and events all over the world. He is presented in Paris for more than fifteen years.
