Alberto Vejarano was born in 1976. In 1996, he got involved in the post graffiti Parisian culture, creating the Chanoir persona.
He studied at the Beaux Arts Academy in Paris with Jean-Michel Alberola. In 2002 he started exploring the pictorial adaptations for children of European literature made in America and in Japan. In his works, he shows the different mythologies of cartoons in the context of our globalized culture. The cat iconography soon became his signature.
Chanoir took part in the show "L'humour dans l'art" then assists François Boirond for the exhibition "La beauté" in Avignon. He produced the documentary film "Murs libres" about the street art scene in Barcelona.
He currently lives and works in Paris.
