The inspiration
At a clearing in the woods, a bear tenderly reaches out to two small birds. Like so many animals, historically bears have been horribly treated and completely misunderstood. In this print I wanted to show the bear to be a kind and gentle being.
This 6 colour silkscreen is hand-printed on 250 gram handmade Italian Rosapina Fabriano and is in a limited edition of 50 and signed by the artist.

The artist
Tim Southall studied Fine Art at Northumbria University and then printmaking at the Royal College of Art and l’école des beaux art, Paris. Based in London for twenty years, he now splits his time between London and his house and studio in the Cadiz Province, southern Spain.
The base upon which he builds his work is metaphysics: existence, objects and their properties, space and time, cause and effect, and possibility. Using these guides, he express's how he see's and experiences the world.
