The inspiration

The title alludes to the book the figure is reading under the tree in the bottom left of the composition. The Dark Mountain Project is a movement of writers and artists exploring a future in which civilisation is at a point of collapse as a result of climate change. The dark mountain in the distance is Cader Idris.

Etching and aquatint on copper hand-printed on Hahnemuhle etching paper in an edition of 75 copies.
