Tim Southall ƒ?? A Walk in the Snow, shows a couple and a dog walking and playing in a snow covered winter landscape. It is a sugarlift aquatint is on copper plate. This is a process where the image is painted with a sugar solution onto the etching plate. The plate is then coated in acid resistant varnish and finally immersed into boiling water. The hot water dissolves the sugar solution causing the varnish to ƒ??liftƒ?? and expose the drawing ready to etch. The image size is 20 x 30 cm on a paper size is 35 x 45 cm. It is printed on Somerset Velvet, a heavyweight 300 gsm handmade paper from St Cuthbertƒ??s Mill in Somerset. The print is in a limited edition of 75, each signed by the artist. This print is sold unframed.
Tim Southall studied Fine Art at Northumbria University and then printmaking at the Royal College of Art and l’école des beaux art, Paris.
