Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore, the quintessential style guide, has a rich heritage of working with some of the most well-known photographers in the world. As such, BAZAAR has always harboured the growth of budding, young photographers, creating initiatives such as the Harper’s BAZAAR ION Orchard Photography Awards, which each year gives a new photographer the opportunity to work with and be mentored by Harper’s BAZAAR. As an extension of this program to foster new talent within Singapore, Harper’s BAZAAR has invited its past photography awards winners to shoot especially for Affordable Art Fair 2013 with the theme of “The Art of Fashion”. Five finalists will also have their works showcased and their prints available for purchase at this years’ fair. The Red Pencil’s mission is to bring the benefits of art-therapy to reach out to children in overwhelming situations such as natural disasters, conflict zones and long-term hospitalizations, where words are just not enough to convey their pain, and yet whose sufferings need attention, expression, release, relief and ultimately healing. Proceeds from part of the Arty-Licious Evening ticket sales and the total sales of the finished graffiti artwork by Luke Cornish, sponsored by Art Equity and ABSOLUT will go towards supporting The Red Pencil’s mission.
